Message From Principal Disalvo

Dear Voyagers!

Welcome back to school! We are looking forward to seeing each of you when we return to campus. A few things that are important to me as the principal of Vista Grande are student-centered collaboration, partnership and community. We could not ask for a better collaborative partner than our PTA. The members of our PTA work tirelessly and give selflessly of their time so our students can have incredible experiences and opportunities. Our students, staff and families here at Vista Grande feel like a community and that is due in large part to our PTA. Our PTA provides programs and experiences for our students as well as volunteer opportunities for our parents. We hope you’ll take a few moments to fill out the PTA portion of this welcome packet and again, we look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new faces in the fall!

Welcome to Vista Grande!

Thank you,

Angela Disalvo

What Does the PTA Do With Your Support?

The Vista Grande Elementary PTA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of our students and strengthening our school community. Together, we advocate for the education, inclusion, safety, and well-being of every child—while creating meaningful experiences and lasting memories for Vista Grande families.

Each year, the generous support of our families enables the PTA to fund programs, activities, and events that enhance our students’ education and make Vista Grande such a special place. These include:

Student Enrichment

  • Art at Your Fingertips

  • Reflections Art Competition

  • Library support

  • International Day

  • Green Week

  • Red Ribbon Week

  • Yellow Ribbon Week

  • Student assemblies

  • Field trip bus transportation

  • Additional educational and enrichment activities

Community Events

  • Welcome Back Picnic

  • Movie Night

  • Talent Show

  • Game Night

  • Spring Festival

Teacher and Staff Support

  • Classroom start-up funds

  • Teacher and staff lunches and breakfasts

  • Teacher Appreciation activities

  • Copying services and classroom materials

  • Additional resources that support our educators

These valuable programs and events are made possible through the involvement and generosity of our Vista Grande community. Your support helps us provide opportunities that allow every student to learn, connect, grow, and thrive.

By joining the PTA, you help strengthen our school community and support programs that enrich every student’s experience at Vista Grande. PTA members are invited to attend our monthly meetings, held on the second Tuesday of each month. Meetings may be attended in person or via Zoom, and everyone is encouraged to participate, share ideas, and help us advocate for the best interests of our students.

There are also many opportunities to volunteer with PTA programs, school events, and classroom activities. PTA membership is not required to volunteer, and families are welcome to participate in whatever way works best for them. Volunteer opportunities include serving as a Room Parent, assisting with Art at Your Fingertips or the school garden, and helping with events such as the Parent Social, Talent Show, Fun Run, Book Fair, and more.

Joining the PTA does not require you to attend meetings or volunteer. Simply becoming a member—and making a donation, if you choose—provides meaningful support for the programs and experiences that benefit all Vista Grande students.

Together, we can create a wonderful school year filled with enriching educational opportunities, memorable experiences, and a strong sense of community for all our Voyagers!
